The Best of European Opera in partnership with the European Broadcasting Union
 
This project represents a venture between opera companies and broadcasters throughout Europe.
 
The 60-minute programme features the best performances from known and lesser known opera houses in Europe in 2011–12 and showcases some of the outstanding artistic moments and performers of the year from on European stages.

Presented by Kaspar Holten, former artistic director of the Royal Danish Opera, who took the reins from Elaine Padmore in 2011 as Director of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the programme offers excerpts from the following performances:
