Jenny Wilson is one of the most distinctive voices of Swedish pop today. After her first, critically acclaimed album Love & Youth came her second album Hardships! in 2009. It proved to be a gospel album in disguise and a love soon blossomed between Wilson and the Tensta Gospel Choir. After their first, enormously successful concert at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, they did a studio recording in 2010, in which Wilson, her band and the choir worked on creating new versions of songs from Hardships.
It was shortly after this that Wilson received the shocking news that she had breast cancer. This, however, didn't stop her from, while undergoing treatment, writing the music to Helena Franzén's dance performance I'm Not Looking Back, together with Daniel Fagge Fagerström.
Nobody summed it up better than Wilson herself when she announced on her blog that her new dubbel album BLAZING would be released in May and that she was going on tour:
”After darkness comes light, after snow comes grass, after winter comes a bloody beautiful spring.”
