The Flying Dutchman
The Flying Dutchman is an impassioned opera based on the legend of the flying Dutchman whose ship is doomed to sail the seven seas until he finds the woman who loves him. Every seven years he can go on land to try and find her. At the centre of the plot and the music is the young woman Senta, who lives in a protected world and dreams about the Dutchman from a distance. Her life takes a dramatic turn when the two actually meet.

The Flying Dutchman is one of Richard Wagner's most‑performed operas, and the leitmotif appears in a number of science fiction films. This major production requires a big orchestra and choir – here with singers from Sweden, Vietnam, and South Africa. Sung in german with swedish surtitles
